Project Overview
Acclinate is a digital health company focused on improving representation and diversity in clinical research and genomic studies. The company combines community engagement with advanced AI-driven analytics to help pharmaceutical organizations recruit more representative participants for clinical trials.
Its platform integrates community trust, behavioral insights, and predictive analytics to enable pharmaceutical sponsors and research institutions to design more inclusive clinical trials and accelerate research timelines.
The goal of this project was to design a digital platform that communicates Acclinate’s mission of advancing health equity while explaining its data-driven clinical research technology in a clear and engaging way.
Problems
Clinical research historically lacks diversity in participant populations, which can limit the effectiveness of treatments across different demographics. Many pharmaceutical organizations struggle to engage underrepresented communities due to:
1. Limited trust between communities and healthcare institutions
2. Lack of culturally relevant communication
3. Inefficient clinical trial recruitment processes
4. Limited insight into participant readiness and engagement
These challenges create delays in research and reduce the representativeness of clinical trial data.
My Role as UI UX Designer
As the UI/UX Designer on the project, I was responsible for designing the overall digital experience and visual interface for the platform.
My responsibilities included:
• UX research within digital health and biotech platforms
• Structuring the website information architecture
• Designing wireframes and interaction flows
• Creating high-fidelity UI layouts in Figma
• Designing storytelling sections explaining clinical research workflows
• Ensuring responsive design across desktop and mobile devices
• Collaborating with development teams to maintain design accuracy during implementation
Impact
The redesigned platform helps Acclinate communicate its mission of advancing health equity and improving clinical research diversity. By translating complex scientific and healthcare processes into a clear digital experience, the platform strengthens credibility with pharmaceutical partners and promotes greater participation in inclusive clinical research initiatives.
